Tirispora sp.

Ascomata 264–420 mm (x = 318, n = 9) long, 250–430 mm (x = 290; n = 9) in diameter, globose to subglobose, superficial or semi-immersed, hyaline to pale brown, solitary, ostiolate, papillate (with long necks), periphysate. Necks 220-466 mm (x = 370; n = 9) long, 60-90 mm (x = 68; n = 9) wide. Peridium 15-22 mm thick, hyaline to light brown comprising of 5-8 layers of elongated, compressed cells. Catenophyses not seen.

Asci 80-115 x 19-31 mm (x = 98 x 24; n = 50), 8-spored, clavate, pedicellate, unitunicate, thinwalled, with an indistinct apical pore, persistent.

Ascospores 15-22 x 8-12 mm (x = 18 x 10; n = 50), ellipsoidal, bicelled with large oil globules, hyaline, thick-walled, with a single appendage at one pole, 2.0-4.5 mm wide (x = 3.2 ; n = 12) and 1.5-3.3 mm high (x = 2.3; n = 12), apical, cap-like, adpressed, arranged randomly in relation to the apex of the ascus.
